Natalie Contreras

Natalie Contreras, content specialist in early learning at NWEA, initially intended to be a geneticist. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology from the University of Iowa, she switched gears and followed her heart, which lead her down a path to special education. She received her master’s degree in early childhood special education and taught, mostly pre-K–4 students, for 15 years prior to joining NWEA. Her current focus is on creating an equitable, enjoyable assessment experience for young learners.
