Ted Coe, Ph.D., will lead efforts in content advocacy and design
Portland, Ore. – Sept. 15, 2020 – Ted Coe, Ph.D., is the new Director of Content Advocacy and Design for NWEA – a not-for-profit assessment provider. Coe brings a 25-year background in mathematics assessment, policy and curriculum and will help the organization’s continued efforts to develop deep, rigorous, and research-informed content solutions for NWEA products and services.
Coe is a respected thought leader and a well-known member of the mathematics community presenting at national conferences for organizations like the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges, National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics, and the Association of State Supervisors of Mathematics. He’s been a high-school mathematics teacher, a math professor, department chair, and administrator at the college level. Prior to joining NWEA, he was the Director of Mathematics at Achieve – a nonprofit that aims to help all students to graduate from high school ready for college, careers, and citizenship. Coe earned his B.A.E., M.Ed., and Ph.D. degrees from Arizona State University, each with a focus on mathematics education.

As the new Director of Content Advocacy and Design, Coe will focus on content quality and alignment as he connects NWEA’s work to important initiatives in mathematics education and advocates for high-quality teaching and learning for all.
